Class Changes:

Warrior

Warrior in Vanilla is overpowered. Just straight up too powerful for the game. That being said, this just means that any change made to the class must down one of two things only: either optimize what doesn’t work but should for the class, or improve on suboptimal playstyles to allow for more options for the player. The changes proposed for the coming patch attempt to stick within those guidelines.

New Abilities

Intervene

Learned at Level: 60 Cost: 10 Rage Cooldown: 30 sec

Run at high speed towards a party member, intercepting the next melee or ranged attack made against them.

Die by the Sword

Passive

Increases your chance to parry attacks while under the effects of Retaliation.

Master Strike

Arms talent, Row 3

A skillful attack dealing weapon damage, with an additional effect based on your main hand weapon:

  • Mace: disorients the target until it takes damage
  • Sword: disarms the target
  • Axe: immobilizes the target
  • Polearm: its own distinct effect

Changes to Class Mechanics

Rage Generation
Rage earned from a swing is calculated from the damage it deals plus a share based on your weapon speed, and it is tuned generously, so armor mitigation costs you far less rage than a damage-only calculation would. Weapon speed itself is rage-neutral: at equal damage per second a slow weapon and a fast one generate the same rage.

Changes to Baseline Spells

Slam
Deals a percentage of weapon damage, gains a fifth rank, and (the important part) it can be used while moving.

Bloodthirst
Deals damage plus 35% of your attack power and increases your movement speed.

Mortal Strike
Deals a percentage of weapon damage, so it scales with your weapon.

Whirlwind and Cleave
Both scale from your melee damage.

Shield Slam
Its damage is modified by your attack power as well as your shield block value.

Enrage
The damage bonus lasts its full duration.

Thunder Clap
Usable in Defensive Stance as well as Battle Stance.
