Class Changes:

Shaman

Elemental and Enhancement both have struggles in PvE that can be addressed somewhat easily. Restoration is pretty solid in vanilla, but its talent tree leaves a lot to be desired: something to keep in mind for the future.

New Abilities

Water Shield

Learned at Level: 26, five ranks up to level 58

Surrounds you with globes of rejuvenating water. When a spell, melee or ranged attack hits you, mana is restored and one globe is spent.

Earth Shield

Learned at Level: 40, three ranks at 40 / 48 / 60

Surrounds you with globes of protective earth that restore health when you are hit. Only one elemental shield can be active at a time.

Molten Blast

Six ranks, up to level 60

A direct Fire nuke, giving Elemental a Fire-school button to pair with Flame Shock. The Improved Molten Blast talent makes refreshing Flame Shock with it deal extra damage.

Calm Elements

Learned at Level: 52 Cost: 90 mana

Reduces the range at which an Elemental will attack you: the Elemental equivalent of a Druid's Soothe Animal.

Totemic Recall

Cooldown: 6 sec

Returns your totems to the earth and refunds part of the mana used to cast each one.

Race-Specific Spells

A few Shaman abilities are taught only to certain races. On OctoWoW each Shaman race carries its own signature spell, so which one you play shapes part of your kit.

Orc

Feral Spirit
Learned at 40, second rank at 60
Summons Spirit Wolves to fight for you. The second rank summons Greater Spirit Wolves.

Tauren

Ethereal Form
Take greatly reduced physical damage, but you are unable to cast spells for the duration.

Troll

Hex
Learned at 30
Transforms the enemy into a frog, preventing casting and reducing the damage they deal. Works on Beasts, Humanoids and Critters.

Changes to Baseline Spells

Lightning Shield
Cheaper at every rank (Rank 7: 370 310), and it runs on a duration with globes.

Flame Shock
Benefits from your melee Attack Power, so it scales for Enhancement.

Stormstrike
The extra attack deals a percentage of weapon damage, and the Nature damage bonus it applies is defined per rank.

Lightning Bolt
Costs less mana.

Two-Handed Axes and Maces
Baseline: every Shaman has it without spending a talent point.

Parry
Baseline for every Shaman, not an Enhancement talent.

Talent Changes

Elemental

Earthquake
Row 7, 1 Rank: new capstone (three ranks at 40 / 50 / 60)
Breaks the earth beneath the target for Nature damage, splashing a share of it onto nearby enemies and leaving broken ground that slows them. After a delay the ground erupts in an aftershock.

Convection and Concussion
Cover all your offensive Fire, Frost and Nature spells.

Elemental Mastery
Row 7 → Row 5: reworked
A duration buff increasing your Fire, Frost and Nature damage and reducing your offensive spell costs.

Elemental Focus
Triggers on a critical strike (from a spell or a melee attack), and then discounts your next two damage spells or abilities.

Elemental Devastation
Row 4 → Row 2: reworked
Grants flat spell and melee hit, and your melee crits grant additional spell hit.

Elemental Fury
Moved within Row 5, 1 Rank → 2 Ranks
Also increases your Frost, Fire and Nature spell damage outright, not only the critical strike bonus.

Call of Earth
Row 4, 2 Ranks: replaces Eye of the Storm
Adds charges to Earth Shield, grants pushback resistance while it is up, and lets your direct damage spells replenish its charges.

Improved Molten Blast
Row 3, 2 Ranks: new
Refreshing Flame Shock with Molten Blast deals damage based on the duration refreshed.

Call of Flame
Row 2 → Row 4
Also boosts your Fire spells, not just Fire Totems, and extends Flame Shock's range.

Improved Fire Totems
Also increases your Searing Totem's attack speed and range.

Reverberation
5 Ranks → 3 Ranks

Removed: Eye of the Storm

Enhancement

Bloodlust
Row 7, 1 Rank: new capstone
Increases your attack and casting speed, and while it is active your melee critical strikes increase the attack and casting speed of nearby party members.

Stormstrike
Row 7 → Row 5
No longer the capstone, so you can reach it without going all the way down the tree.

Lightning Strike
Row 3, 1 Rank: new, takes Two-Handed Axes and Maces' slot
An instant strike for weapon damage plus Nature damage that also triggers an empowered version of your active shield, consuming charges.

Elemental Weapons
Completely rebuilt. Each imbue grants its own benefit: Flametongue builds Fire damage as you hit, Frostbrand and the others each do something distinct.

Ancestral Guardian
Row 3, 3 Ranks: merges Anticipation and Toughness
Increases your armor from items and your dodge chance in one talent.

Element's Grace
Row 6, 5 Ranks: replaces Weapon Mastery
Increases your damage with all weapons and with Stormstrike and Lightning Strike, plus the critical strike chance of your instant cast spells.

Spirit Armor
Row 4, 2 Ranks: new
Increases the armor gained from shields and the threat you generate while wearing one.

Stable Shields
Row 2, 3 Ranks: replaces Improved Lightning Shield
Adds charges to all your shield spells at the cost of a longer cooldown between activations.

Totemic Alignment
Row 2, 2 Ranks: replaces Guardian Totems
Transfers part of the threat your totems generate onto you, so they stop being killed.

Calming Winds
Row 3, 3 Ranks: new
Reduces threat from your physical attacks, weapon imbues, Lightning Strike and Stormstrike, but not while Rockbiter Weapon is active, so it does not undercut tanking.

Ancestral Knowledge
Increases the total value of all your stats.

Enhancing Totems
Row 3 → Row 5
Also reduces the cooldown of Grounding Totem and improves Stoneskin Totem.

Flurry
The number of hasted swings scales with the talent.

Removed: Weapon Mastery, Guardian Totems, Improved Lightning Shield, Improved Weapon Totems, Anticipation, Toughness, and Two-Handed Axes and Maces and Parry, which are no longer talents

Restoration

Spirit Link
Row 7, 1 Rank: new capstone, replaces Mana Tide Totem, level 54, 10 min cooldown
Links an ally's spirit to other group members within 35 yards. Damage taken by the target is distributed among the linked allies.

Improved Water Shield
Row 4, 3 Ranks: new
Water Shield also restores mana every 5 sec, and your total mana regeneration increases for each globe still active.

Undertow
Row 5, 2 Ranks: new
Healing Wave and Lesser Healing Wave have a chance to restore a Water Shield charge, or to consume one for a benefit when already at maximum.

Tidal Surge
Row 5, 2 Ranks: new
Healing a target affected by Healing Way has a chance to refund part of the spell's base mana cost.

Ancestral Swiftness
Row 5, 1 Rank: replaces Nature's Swiftness
Makes your next Nature spell instant, but damaging spells cast this way have reduced effectiveness: it is a healing cooldown, not a burst opener.

Improved Chain Heal
Row 6, 5 Ranks: replaces Purification
Reduces the cast time of Chain Heal.

Nature's Grace
Row 3, 3 Ranks: replaces Healing Grace
Reduces the threat generated by your Nature spells.

Healing Way
Row 5 → Row 3
Lesser Healing Wave and Chain Heal can also apply it, and it empowers your next Healing Wave or Chain Heal.

Totemic Mastery
Increases the duration of your helpful totems and the mana Totemic Recall refunds.

Tidal Focus
Also reduces the mana cost of your totems.

Restorative Totems
Reduces Mana Spring Totem's cost and increases Healing Stream Totem's effect.

Healing Focus
5 Ranks → 2 Ranks

Tidal Mastery
Row 4 → Row 2

Removed: Mana Tide Totem, Purification, Totemic Focus, Nature's Guidance, Healing Grace, Nature's Swiftness
